“apologies: a love song.”
god, i wish
i had more
than just a title!
that’s as far
as i get
with an idea
at times:
a thought
a feeling
a hope
a wish.
i ask the words
for help;
sometimes
they say yes.
the words
owe me
nothing.
they are exposed
to my need
but i try,
i do try,
to treat them
with respect.
too often
of course
i am more like
a Black Friday shopper
at a Walmart.
i try
not to be seen
on camera
as i run
through the aisles
looking for
the next line.
