is not good
that humans evolved
to favor
fear, anger, & hate.
what we need are
hope, compassion, and
the willingness to refuse
the fear as it rises
so we can choose
what we need to live
free & strong.
and while i’m at it,
i’ll wish for us
to evolve wings
and super-strength.
at some point,
we need to leave
our primitive past behind.
we need to grow up
and act with wisdom,
with courage,
with care for each other.
soon it will be too late,
and we will die
never knowing
how wonderful
life could be
living as
human beings.
