Leg reports

eyes bigger than stomach

I had an idea for a video for the Facebook page I am doing in support of Elizabeth Warren. Nothing fancy, just a bit of so-called visualization of recent polls showing her doing much better of late. It started out as a nice, tidy project.

Then more polls kept coming out.

Then I couldn’t figure out the best way to go about it. Motion? Final Cut? Pixelmator?

And now I’ve run out of time for this to be relevant.

So, what did I learn?

A “current events” video has to be current. That means, it needs to go online within a day or two. For that to happen, I have to be able to create the video within a manageable time frame. Because I’m out of practice with both Motion and Final Cut, simply getting started took too long. (Hell, I had to download Motion, and that took about twenty minutes!)

This morning, I got a lot of the pieces together. I developed a plan. I worked out how to make it happen.

I ran out of time.

I ended up making the project too big for my current circumstances, and I ended up getting nothing done.
