it’s not a joke:
one life
(this life)
and then, you’re done.
even if
you believe
(i don’t believe)
heaven is your
next stop
(and hell
for the bad ones),
that’s no excuse
for not making
this life,
this one life,
worthy
of having been
lived.
no god
worth worshipping
is going to
praise you with glory
for your kill count
or vast wealth
or time spent
watching fake lives
on tv
while children lived
hungry
sick
short
miserable
lives
you can have done
something about.
and if this life
is all there is
and death is absolute?
either quit now;
or
admit it’s meaningless
and go for all
the pleasure you can;
or
decide
you want
this one life
this only life
to mean something.
to you,
if no one else.
i mean,
if nothing else,
die happy.
