a way to explore thoughts, usually first thing in the morning.

twenty-three may

i am a moment in time:
of the universe’s existence,
more or less.
that’s nothing to brag of,
here and then gone
before i can finish the thought.
but i am this moment in time,
the moment in which
i do exist.
i am a transient accident,
immeasurably minute among
the billions and billions
of stars and other transient accidents.
our existence carries no meaning,
but my existence,
brief & accidental as it may be,
allows me to indulge myself
in creating meaning
to make my existence
worth the trouble
the universe went through
these past 13 billion years.
